Adaferin Gel belongs to a class of medications called retinoid-like compounds. It is primarily used to control acne in adults and children who are more than 12 years of age. It prevents the development of tiny pimples, blackheads, and whiteheads. It reduces the excessive oil production, irritation, and unclogs the clogged pores.

Dosage and direction

Cleanse the affected area with a gentle cleanser and pat dry.
Wash your hands thoroughly before and after application.
Apply a small amount of Adaferin gel evenly to the affected area.

Contraindications

Eczema (a skin disease) - Adaferin gel may worsen the skin condition.

Adaferin gel should not be used in pregnancy. So, inform your doctor if you are pregnant or planning to become pregnant.

Drug interaction

Adaferin gel should not be used simultaneously with other Retinoids.

Missed dose

If you forget to apply Adaferin gel at the scheduled time, apply it as soon as you remember. If it is close to the time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and continue with your regular dosing schedule. Do not apply extra gel to make up for the missed dose unless instructed by your doctor.

Overdose

Excessive application of Adaferin gel can lead to marked redness, scaling and skin discomfort. Inform your doctor regarding these effects and refrain from further application until directed to do so by your doctor.

Storage

Store this medicine at room temperature (15-25ºC). Protect it from light and moisture. Keep Adaferin gel away from children. Do not use this medicine after the expiry date has passed.
